When Toughness is a Requirement
When continuous traffic or extreme demands are common, your epoxy flooring needs trowel grade application. This is the optimal system available for ultimate toughness, creating a surface with twice the thickness of our usual home or business process. Floors that undergo great mass, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ought to be covered with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is suggested when concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.
With heavy trowel grade coats comes more time for curing. Ideally, trowel grade epoxy is applied at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, F or more. Below that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes longer to cure. Ordinary curing time is eight to twelve hours for each coating. The complete cure, when ordinary activities can begin again, is after seven days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade coatings are best not tried.
Trowel grade requires significant experience and skills to apply right. West Coast Epoxy has the teams and equipment essential to match the requirements of any commercial or industrial building.
