If Strength is Needed
Where continuous traffic or higher demands are normal, your epoxy flooring needs a trowel grade application. It is the ideal system available for maximal endurance, creating a coating with double the thickness of our typical home or business epoxy process. Floors that support considerable loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ought to be covered with trowel grade epoxy as should concrete where contact with caustic or corrosive chemicals is common.
With thicker coatings comes extra time for curing. Optimally, trowel grade epoxy is applied at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or more; below that, and the epoxy with its clear coat takes longer to cure. Average curing time is eight to twelve hours for each coating. The complete curing, when the usual activities can begin again, is after seven days. Please note that below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, trowel grade coats are best not attempted.
Trowel grade epoxies are not for Do-It-Yourselfers! Skills and experience are essential, as well as professional troweling tools. That’s why West Coast Epoxy is here for clients in Tracy to bring the right materials and crews to do the job when trowel grade epoxies are needed.
