When Strength is Needed
Trowel grade epoxy is the maximal concrete coating for thickness and endurance! For heavy-duty shops, manufacturing warehouses, chemical plants, and factories, trowel grade coatings are finest. They withstand additional weight, corrodents, and traffic. If your concrete endures a lot of punishment, it needs a trowel grade epoxy coating.
The ideal temperature for applying trowel grade flooring is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The epoxy will solidify in 8 to 12 hours and the clear topcoat hardens at the same time. Once the coats harden, it is okay to walk on the epoxy flooring but due to the thickness of the coats, full curing takes 7 days. If applied under 70 degrees Fahrenheit, it takes added time for successful curing. It should be noted that if the temperature drops below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, the thickness of a trowel grade epoxy coating really should not be attempted. Therefore, this is usually a late spring, summer, or early autumn job.
Trowel grade coats are not for do-it-yourself fans! Skills and experience are essential, as well as professional troweling equipment. West Coast Epoxy has the correct materials and staff to provide that service to Livermore customers. For more information, call us at 916-531-1874 or try our online request form.
