Urethane concrete is the most durable manner of coating that West Coast Epoxy can apply. While a trowel grade epoxy coating is quite long-lasting, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even tougher. That’s because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when 100 percent cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The width of urethane concrete topcoats can also be stretched to limits not attainable with commonplace epoxy coatings, and the material retains its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Concrete
Despite the fact that epoxy topcoats are ideal for covering concrete floors exposed to cold and hot things on a continual basis, the concrete underneath still faces thermal expansion and contraction from the changes in floor temperatures. By laying a thick layer of urethane concrete over the floor of such buildings, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you additionally upgrade its thermal resistance. This makes urethane concrete useful for workshops, factories, and plants.
