Urethane concrete is the toughest type of coating that West Coast Epoxy can apply. While a trowel-grade epoxy coat is quite strong, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even longer-lasting. That is because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when 100 percent cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The width of urethane cement coats can also be stretched to limits not possible with plain epoxy coatings, and the material retains its ability to be shaped for use with coved and beveled floors.
Best Applications for Urethane Cement
Although epoxy topcoats are ideal for coating foundations exposed to hot and cold fluids on a constant basis, the concrete beneath still faces thermal expansion and contraction from the changes in floor temperature. By laying a thick layer of urethane cement over the foundation of such warehouses, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you additionally improve its thermal resistance. This makes urethane concrete useful for plants, workshops and factories.
Urethane Concrete is Customizable
Urethane coatings may be colored to copy flooring schemes or to differentiate work areas. They come in multiple types, and West Coast Epoxy helps our Moraga customers select the ideal formula, depending on their requirements.
