When Toughness is a Demand
When continuous traffic or extra demands are expected, your epoxy flooring must have trowel grade application. This is the optimal system available for maximal longevity, creating a surface with twice the thickness of our typical commercial or home process. Floors that experience extreme weight, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ideally should be coated with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is suggested where concrete contact with caustic or corrosive chemicals is common.
Thicker epoxies naturally require additional time for curing. Ideally, trowel grade epoxy is layered at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, F or higher. Under that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes longer to cure. Optimal curing time is 8-12 hours for each coating. The complete curing, when average activities can begin again, is after 7 days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade epoxies are best not attempted.
Trowel grade specifies significant experience and skills to install right. West Coast Epoxy has the crews and tools required to equal the specifications of any commercial or industrial location.
