Urethane concrete is the most durable type of flooring that West Coast Epoxy can install. While a trowel grade epoxy coat is very enduring, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even tougher. That is because it uses urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when perfectly cured has the flex of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The width of urethane cement topcoats
may also be stretched to limits not seen with ordinary epoxy coatings, and the material retains its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Concrete
Epoxy topcoats do a beautiful job of protecting concrete and extending its lifetime greatly. Urethane concrete is even better, however, especially for protecting foundations from thermal contraction and expansion. If a floor constantly faces temperature adjustments due to manufacturing or weather, this coating acts like an additional layer protecting the underlying concrete.
Urethane Concrete is Customizable
Urethane coatings may be colored to copy flooring designs or to differentiate work zones. They come in many types, and West Coast Epoxy helps our Hayward clientele decide upon the best formula, based on their requirements.
