If Toughness is Demanded
Where excessive traffic or higher demands are common, your concrete epoxy flooring requires a trowel grade application. This is the optimal method available for ultimate longevity, creating a surface with twice the thickness of our usual business or home process. Floors that experience heave loads, such as from forklifts, ideally should be coated with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is suggested where concrete contact with caustic or corrosive chemicals is common.
With thicker epoxies comes added time for curing. Optimally, trowel grade epoxy is laid at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or above; below that, and the epoxy with its clear coat takes more time to cure. Normal curing time is eight to twelve hours for each coating with the cure being completed and normal activities beginning again after seven days. Please note that below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, trowel grade epoxies are best not attempted.
Trowel grade necessitates real skill and experience to install properly. West Coast Epoxy has the staff and tools essential to cover the requirements of any industrial or commercial location.
