If Strength is a Requirement
When hard traffic or higher demands are expected, the epoxy flooring must have trowel grade application. It is the ultimate method available for maximal longevity, providing a coating with double the thickness of our typical business or residential process. Floors that experience considerable loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ideally should be coated with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is recommended if concrete contact with caustic or corrosive chemicals is common.
With thicker coats comes extra time for curing. Ideally, trowel grade epoxy is laid at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, F or higher. Below that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes longer to cure. Ordinary curing time is eight to twelve hours for each coat. The final cure, when ordinary work can begin again, is after seven days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade epoxies are best not tried.
Trowel grade specifies real skills and experience to install correctly. West Coast Epoxy has the crews and equipment necessary to cover the needs of any industrial or commercial site.
