Sometimes you require more than a concrete repair. Sometimes you desire more than a mere change in color or texture. Sometimes you would prefer your concrete floor to look glossy, reflecting light like a mirror. West Coast Epoxy can certainly color and protect your concrete floor, but we can go even further and give it a glassy shine with concrete polishing.
How We Polish Concrete
Here are the typical steps involved when polishing concrete:
- Grinding – A strong grind of the current concrete eliminates blemishes and guarantees the floor sealers attach permanently. We use premium industrial vacuum equipment to collect the dust produced during the grind.
- Leveling – Areas with deterioration or faults are refloated to the same level as the rest of the floor. This way the polish is perfectly even and solid.
- Staining – Your concrete floor is infused, not just coated, with a color stain of your selection. Any specified patterns are also added at this step. Stains can be heavy, obscuring the concrete grain, or light, enabling patterns in the concrete to show through like polished wood.
- Clear protective layer – Floor sealers applied above the polished floor fill the pores and highlight the wonderful gloss. These transparent sealers bond to the smoothed surface with immense strength, creating a floor that is very low maintenance. For environments where heavy traffic is commonplace, we use a thicker coat of protective sealers to compensate.
Concrete polishing thereby offers the finest in decorative durability, for both home and businesses, while simultaneously giving chemical and scratch resistance. This method is easily the best for enterprises wanting a beautiful, tougher, and low-maintenance concrete surface in their business or industrial facility, or for homeowners wanting a special floor that’s readily maintained.
