Urethane concrete is the toughest form of coating that West Coast Epoxy can lay down. Although a trowel grade epoxy coat is quite strong, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even longer lasting because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when one hundred percent cured has the flex of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. Although stretched to limits not attainable with ordinary epoxy coatings, urethane concrete still retains its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Optimal Applications for Urethane Cement
Epoxy topcoats do a top-notch job of protecting concrete and extending its lifespan considerably. Urethane cement is even better, however, especially for guarding floors from thermal expansion and contraction. If a floor continually faces temperature changes due to weather or manufacturing, this flooring behaves like an added layer protecting the underlying concrete.
