If Endurance is Wanted
When constant traffic or higher demands are commonplace with your concrete flooring, you need a trowel grade epoxy application. This is the ideal technique available for ultimate endurance, creating a surface with twice the thickness of our typical commercial or home epoxy process. Floors that support considerable weight, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, as well as concrete that comes into contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals regularly, should be protected with trowel grade epoxy.
Something to consider about a trowel grade epoxy is that because it is so thick, temperature requirements for application and additional curing time is commonly required.
- Above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, each epoxy application will cure in 8-12 hours with a full seven days recommended prior to beginning normal activities.
- Below 70 degrees Fahrenheit it takes additional time for successful curing.
- Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, the thickness of a trowel grade epoxy coating really should not be attempted.
Given these guidelines, this type of application is recommended in late spring, summer, or early fall.
Trowel grade coatings are not for do-it-yourself projects! Experience, skills, and professional troweling equipment is required. West Coast Epoxy meets all these requirements and is happy to help clients in San Leandro complete the job right! For more information, call us at 916-531-1874 or submit an online request form.
