Urethane concrete is the most durable type of flooring that West Coast Epoxy can lay down. Although a trowel grade epoxy coat is very enduring, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even longer-lasting. That is because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when fully cured has the flexibility of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The width of urethane cement topcoats can also be stretched to limits not reachable with ordinary epoxy coatings while keeping its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Cement
Even though epoxy topcoats are ideal for coating foundations exposed to hot and cold fluids on a continuing basis, the concrete beneath still faces thermal contraction and expansion from the changes in floor temperature. By installing a thick layer of urethane cement over the floor of these warehouses, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you additionally improve its thermal resistance. That makes urethane concrete useful for plants, workshops and factories.
