When Endurance is Desired
When continuous traffic or extreme demands are commonplace, your epoxy flooring must have trowel grade application. This is the ultimate system available for excelling durability, providing a coating with twice the thickness of our typical residential or commercial process. Floors that experience considerable loads, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ideally should be covered with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is recommended where concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.
With thicker epoxies comes added time for curing. Ideally, trowel grade epoxy is layered at temperatures of seventy degrees Fahrenheit, F or more. Under that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes longer to cure. Normal curing time is eight to twelve hours for each coat. The complete cure, when the usual work can begin again, is after 7 days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade coats are best not tried.
Trowel grade requires real skill and experience to lay down properly. West Coast Epoxy has the teams and equipment necessary to match the needs of any industrial or commercial location.
