If Toughness is Demanded
Where continuous traffic or great demands are normal, your epoxy flooring needs trowel grade application. This is the perfect method available for maximum toughness, creating a coating with double the thickness of our usual commercial or home process. Floors that undergo much mass, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ought to be coated with trowel grade epoxy. Trowel grade also is specified if concrete contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals is common.
With heavier coatings comes extra time for curing. Optimally, trowel grade epoxy is applied at temperatures of seventy degrees Fahrenheit, F or above. Below that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes more time to cure. The average curing time is 8 to 12 hours for each coat. The full cure, when ordinary activities can begin again, is after seven days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, F, trowel grade coats are best not tried.
Trowel grade specifies significant experience and skill to lay down properly. West Coast Epoxy has the staff and equipment required to cover the requirements of any industrial or commercial site.
