When Endurance is a Demand
Where continuous traffic or extreme demands are expected, your epoxy flooring requires a trowel grade application. Trowel grade is the perfect technique available for ultimate longevity, creating a coating with double the thickness of our typical commercial or residential process. Floors that support much mass, such as from heavy-duty forklifts, ideally should be coated with trowel grade epoxy as should concrete that comes into contact with corrosive or caustic chemicals on a regular basis.
With fatter coats comes additional time for curing. Ideally, trowel grade epoxy is applied at temperatures of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, or above. Below that, and the epoxy, with its clear coat, takes longer to cure. Average curing time is 8 to 12 hours for each coat. The final cure, when average activities can begin again, is after seven days. Below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, trowel grade coats are best not attempted.
Trowel grade requires real skill and experience to lay down correctly. West Coast Epoxy has the staff and tools necessary to equal the requirements of any industrial or commercial property.
