Urethane concrete is the most durable type of flooring that West Coast Epoxy can apply. Although a trowel grade epoxy coating is really durable, urethane concrete (also called urethane cement) is even more resilient. That is because it employs urethane to bind together an engineered cement powder that when fully cured has the flex of epoxy combined with the strength of concrete. The thickness of urethane concrete coats may also be stretched to limits not seen with ordinary epoxy coatings, and the material keeps its ability to be shaped for use with beveled and coved floors.
Applications for Urethane Cement
Although epoxy top coats are ideal for coating concrete floors exposed to hot and cold things on a constant basis, the concrete beneath still faces thermal contraction and expansion from the changes in floor temperature. By adding a thick layer of urethane concrete over the floor of these locations, not only do you strengthen the floor, but you additionally increase its thermal resistance. That makes urethane concrete useful for factories, plants and workshops.
